Looking at our culture, we can see that society is becoming more disconnected. Even though we have technology that connects more people than ever before, there’s still distance. Lack of intimacy is one of the top three reasons why relationships struggle, and often times end. Bringing Intimacy Back, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, is dedicated to inspire, enlighten, and encourage intimate connections. Host Dr. April Brown and co-host Kanya Ford provide an engaging atmosphere to discuss ways to enhance intimacy in one’s relationships; including with oneself, partners, families, friends, and Spirit. Research shows that as we increase the quality of our intimate connections, a decrease of conflicts, anxiety, and depression follows. Take the first steps to strengthen your intimate connections with Bringing Intimacy Back. Bringing Intimacy Back airs LIVE every Thursday at 3:30pm EST. Viewer comments and questions are shared during the exciting discussion!

115 Using Art To Intimately Connect With Your Children With Reina Lombardi
Wednesday Oct 30, 2019
Wednesday Oct 30, 2019
Reina Lombardi of Florida Art Therapy Services, LLC believes that one of the best approaches to build trust in parent child relationships is through creative playful activities. Art and play are the language of childhood- the way a child develops an understanding of their world. This is universal. Kids without access to traditional art materials will find ways to create using natural elements. Arts based activities tap into the child's naturally curious predisposition and provide opportunities for experiential learning. Most kids love the chance to use their hands, practice new skills, and make a mess. Creating art together, or engaging in cooperative creative tasks, facilitate active engagement with one another. We have to actively communicate with one another, which builds rapport. Additionally, children learn general skills important for social and emotional regulation. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/drapril/support Learn more about your ad choices.
